Cost of Preparing Your Tax Return

One question that we are commonly asked is "What will this cost?" and though we'd like to give you a definitive answer, this is not an easy question. Our billings are based on a cost per form used. This is because it just makes sense that a longer and more complex return should bear a higher cost than one consisting of a single Form 1040EZ. So, in order to quote you a price, we would have to know in advance how many forms will be required to complete your return. Consequently, we do not provide estimates before seeing your tax information.

If you can bring in a return prepared for the previous year, we can readily tell you how much it will cost for us to do a comparable return, with the proviso that the cost can change if new forms are needed, or if forms prepared previously are no longer needed. If a previous years’ return is not available, we will do our best to look at your information, and give you an estimate of the cost of preparing the return.

What we can say, is that our prices are comparable to our competition. We could not have been in business in Oak Harbor dating back 30+ years, otherwise.

Beware of some of our competitors who will quote a price for the return, but when the final bill is tallied, there are a number of hidden charges based on the number of W-2's submitted, and charges for what becomes similar to 'product insurance' that you are often offered when buying electronic equipment.
